More about this escape
Padmaa Boutique Hotel occupies a haveli on Chaura Rasta, one of the oldest streets in Jaipur's walled city that was once used for royal processions. What started as a jewelry workshop grew into a family home across generations and now welcomes guests who want to experience life in the old city. Because narrow lanes prevent cars from reaching the property, small electric rickshaws meet guests at the main road and wind through busy neighborhoods to the entrance. The Shah family remains actively involved in running the hotel and enjoys sharing stories about growing up within these walls. Days unfold with vegetarian meals made from recipes passed down through the family, activities like pottery and bangle making, and evenings filled with traditional music on the rooftop. If living heritage like this is what draws you in, our Balti Cultural & Heritage Retreat in Ladakh offers a similar kind of family-led, tradition-rich stay.

Good to Know
Walled City Transportation
Regular cars cannot reach the haveli through the narrow old city lanes. Small electric rickshaws meet you at the main road and drive through the historic neighborhoods to bring you to the hotel entrance.
Menu Restrictions
The kitchen serves only vegetarian food using recipes the Shah family has prepared for generations. Fresh traditional Rajasthani dishes are cooked daily and served in the courtyard or on the rooftop terrace.
Family Involvement
Seven generations of the Shah family have lived in this building. Family members still run the hotel and enjoy sitting with guests to share stories about their childhood memories and how the haveli has evolved over time.
Courtyard Function
The open central courtyard brings daylight into the building while blocking noise from the busy streets just outside the walls. This quiet space works well for morning tea or resting between walking tours
Best Time to Visit
