More about this escape
Susafa is a Sicily wellness retreat that puts nature and honest food at the center of everything. Mornings begin with a buffet of homemade cakes, biscuits, tarts, and fresh bread with the farm's own olive oil, and it is the kind of breakfast that sets a very good tone for the rest of the day. The restaurant Il Granaio serves Italian and Sicilian dishes in a stone-walled dining room with high vaulted ceilings that make every meal feel like a bit of an occasion. Outside, a pool sits in the green Mediterranean landscape, and a lounge with a fireplace is ready for the cooler evenings. Wellness professionals are on hand for massages and treatments using organic oils and Sicilian fragrances, available outdoors under the carob tree or inside your room. The grounds are full of wheat fields, olive groves, and wild flowers, and the farm produces its own olive oil, corn, and jams. The only sounds at Susafa are natural ones, and that very quickly becomes something you did not know you needed.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arriving at Susafa
After settling in, a slow walk through the wheat fields and olive groves is the best way to get a feel for the estate and let the pace of the place take over. As the afternoon moves toward evening, the aperitif in the fields is a perfect first experience, with sparkling wine and the warm Sicilian light doing most of the work. Dinner at Il Granaio brings the first day to a warm and easy close.
Meals: Dinner at Il Granaio
Activities: Estate walk, aperitif in the fields at sunset
Day 2: The Kitchen and the Stars
A buffet breakfast opens the morning before heading into the kitchen for the cooking workshop, which carries through to early afternoon and ends with a shared lunch around the table. The afternoon is free for a massage under the carob tree or time by the pool, both of which are equally good options. That evening, the romantic outdoor tasting menu under the stars is a dinner that is genuinely difficult to follow up.
Meals: Breakfast, cooking workshop lunch, romantic outdoor tasting menu dinner
Activities: Cooking workshop, massage under the carob tree, pool
Day 3: Trees, Wine, and Open Sky
A morning walk or bike ride through the countryside eases the day in before the treehouse picnic takes over the afternoon with good food and wine in the middle of the Susafa landscape. The cabin is a beautiful place to sit and rest after lunch, and the view from up there is one of the better ones on the estate. The Sicilian wine tasting with Manfredi closes the evening with up to ten wines and the stories of the island behind every one of them.
Meals: Breakfast, treehouse picnic lunch, wine tasting
Activities: Walking or cycling, treehouse picnic, Sicilian wine tasting with Manfredi
Day 4: Out on the Water and a Gentle Goodbye
A final breakfast at the farmhouse starts the last day before heading to Palermo for the Quasar sailing excursion, with beautiful coves, clear water, and lunch on board along the way. Back at the estate in the afternoon, a walk through the olive groves or a quiet hour by the pool is a very calm way to bring the stay to a close before checking out. Susafa is the kind of place that stays with people, and the warmth and the food and the land all have a way of coming home with you.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch on board Quasar
Activities: Quasar sailing excursion, pool, farewell walk

Mandranova Farm is a family-run estate on the southern coast of Sicily, and it feels more like a home than a hotel.
