Key Highlights

Guided Resort Walk

Stone paths connect different parts of the resort, taking you past gardens and pools at various heights on the hillside. Native plants growing along the walkways bring in local birds that you’ll hear singing throughout the day. Benches are scattered along the routes so you can stop whenever something catches your attention, or you just want to look at the view.

Guided Pokhara Serenity Tour

Your guide takes you to the calmer parts of Pokhara that don’t get as many visitors. You’ll start with a boat ride to Tal Barahi Temple, which sits by itself on a small island in the middle of Phewa Lake. After that, you'll take a walk around the lakeside area where local shops and cafes line the streets. The Annapurna Cable Car nearby can take you up to Sarangkot if you want mountain views without having to hike uphill. Stops like the temple visit connect to the same kind of local tradition found in our Heritage & Cultural Retreat escapes.

Himalayan Sound Bowl Healing

These bronze bowls make deep humming sounds when someone taps them or runs a wooden stick around their edges. The sounds create vibrations that travel through your body, which is supposed to help tight muscles relax. Your session happens in the spa with big windows looking out at Phewa Lake, so you’re hearing the bowls while also seeing the water and mountains. Sessions like this sit at the center of our Holistic Wellness escapes.

Farm to Table Dining

The kitchen gets most of its vegetables and herbs from a small farm just down the hill from the resort. Cooks plan what to make based on what’s ready to pick that day, rather than ordering from outside suppliers. Meals happen on a terrace facing the lake, and you can watch the sunset light up Machhapuchhre peak while you eat traditional Nepali dishes made with ingredients that were growing in the ground that same morning.

Private & Group Yoga Sessions

Yoga classes happen on a wooden platform built specifically for the morning views it offers. Private sessions mean you get one teacher focused only on you, helping with poses and adjusting things based on how flexible you are. Group classes mix people who’ve never done yoga with those who practice regularly, and everyone works at their own level without pressure to keep up with anyone else.

More about this escape

Dorje’s Resort sits above Phewa Lake, where you can see the water and mountains from almost anywhere on the property. The place helps you slow down through yoga, spa treatments, and time spent doing absolutely nothing if that’s what you need. Everything here runs on a schedule that feels more natural than rushed.

Mornings start with yoga on an outdoor deck before the day gets too warm. Breakfast comes from the resort’s own farm, with vegetables picked that morning and cooked simply so you can taste how fresh everything is. Between planned activities, your time is completely your own for swimming, getting massages, or just sitting outside watching boats move across the lake.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Pokhara, Nature and Wellness

Someone greets you with herbal tea when you get there and takes you to your room. The rest of the afternoon is open for figuring out where everything is located and maybe taking a swim. Late in the day, you’ll try your first sound bowl therapy session in the spa, where those bronze bowls make tones that seem to vibrate right through you. Dinner shows you what farm-to-table really means with vegetables that taste completely different from what you buy at regular grocery stores back home.

Meals: Dinner

Activities: Sound Healing Therapy, Farm to Table Dining

Day 2: Wellness Rituals & Lakeside Adventure

You’ll wake up early for yoga while the air is still cool and fog sits low over the valley. Breakfast afterward has organic choices that actually taste good instead of just being healthy. The middle part of the day stays completely open for whatever you feel like doing. After lunch, your guide takes you out on Phewa Lake in a traditional wooden boat and then to parts of Pokhara where most tourists don’t go. You'll eat lunch at Moondance restaurant, which Dorje opened back in 1991 and has been popular with tourists and trekkers ever since. The vegetables here come from the same farm that supplies the resort, so you get the same fresh quality before coming back to the resort while there’s still afternoon left to enjoy.

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Activities: Private Yoga, Guided City Tour, Phewa Lake Boating

Day 3: Departure with Mindful Memories

Your last breakfast has the same mountain and lake views you’ve been seeing each morning. The shop near the front desk sells pottery and cloth items made by people from nearby villages, if you want to bring something home. The staff helps you check out and say goodbye before you leave.

Good to Know

Sound Bowl Sessions Work Best Relaxed

Come to your sound healing therapy with an open mind and an empty stomach. The vibrations work better when you’re not digesting a heavy meal, so schedule it before dinner or a few hours after eating.

The Resort Has Stairs

There are stairs and sloped pathways connecting different areas. If you have mobility concerns, request a room closer to the main facilities when booking. Golf cart assistance is available for steep sections.

Yoga Happens Early

Morning sessions start around 6:30 to 7:00 AM to catch the coolest part of the day and calmest energy. If you’re not a morning person, you can request afternoon private sessions instead.

Limited Farm Menu

The kitchen works with what’s harvested that day, so there are fewer menu options but everything is very fresh. Vegetarian meals are standard, and meat dishes can be arranged with advance notice.

About your stay

Dorje’s Resort & Spa

Sedi, Sarangkor Road Porkhara

Dorje’s Resort sits above Phewa Lake, where you can see the water and mountains from almost anywhere on the property. The place helps you slow down through yoga, spa treatments, and time spent doing absolutely nothing if that’s what you need. Everything here runs on a schedule that feels more natural than rushed.

Your Accommodation

The Dorje Suite has the most space with a bedroom separated from the living area, plus your own patio and a big bathtub. Deluxe Rooms come with wide balconies where you can sit outside and watch the lake. Standard Rooms cost less and look onto an inner courtyard instead of the lake, but they’re quieter and still have good beds and modern bathrooms. Every room has Wi-Fi that works well, air conditioning that actually cools things down, and showers with hot water that stays hot. The buildings use stone and wood from the local area, so they fit in with the hillside instead of looking out of place.

Sanctuary Resort
4 Nights 5 Days

Sanctuary Resort is set on the western edge of Chitwan National Park in southern Nepal, right along the banks of the Narayani River in the lush region of Amaltari. The buildings are made from local stone and timber, so the resort feels like it grew out of the land rather than being built on top of it. From open-jeep safaris through rhino country to quiet evenings spent with the Tharu community, every part of a stay here is shaped by the wild surroundings.

The Cliff Resort
3 Nights 4 Days

The bridge stretches over the Kaligandaki Gorge with 228 meters of open air below. At The Cliff Nepal, you’ll find experiences that test your limits: a bungee jump that sends you into freefall, a canyon swing with 8 seconds of pure flight, and a sky cycle where you pedal through empty space with just valley views underneath. The Sky Cafe serves meals while suspended over the gorge, making even breakfast feel special. After a full day, the riverside cottages offer hot showers and comfortable beds when your body needs them most.
