More about this escape
Your room has big windows that look directly at the Nilgiri mountains, which are covered in snow and reach 7,000 meters high. Shinta Mani Mustang offers luxury accommodations with traditional Tibetan design elements and modern comfort in this remote mountain location. This five-day trip lets you experience real Tibetan Buddhist culture by visiting monasteries, walking through villages, and meeting local families who still live the same way their ancestors did centuries ago. You will go on guided walks through desert areas, bike rides in the mountains, and horseback rides on local Mustang ponies with village guides. A traditional Tibetan doctor named Amchi Tsewang Gyurme Gurung gives personal healing treatments using old herbal medicines and traditional methods, in the same spirit as the Manpa healing practices found at our Balti Cultural & Heritage Retreat in Ladakh. This beautiful retreat designed by Bill Bensley combines comfortable luxury with real cultural experiences in places that very few travelers ever get to see.

Good to Know
Pack Smart
Bring warm clothes for cold evenings and light clothes for sunny days. You need good walking shoes for village visits. Sunglasses and sunscreen are important because mountain sun is very strong.
Health Prep
The high altitude can make you feel tired or give you headaches on your first day. Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol when you arrive. Tell the resort staff if you feel unwell.
Best Activity Times
Morning activities work best because afternoons get very windy. Helicopter flights usually happen early in the morning when weather is most stable.
