Chitwan Wildlife Adventure

Key Highlights

Bush Dinner

Eat dinner outside in a quiet forest area lit up by many lanterns with your own campfire nearby. Staff will serve you multiple courses while you enjoy the gentle evening breeze and soft rustling of leaves in the candlelit forest setting. This special dinner works great for couples or any size group, making amazing memories under the stars.

Tharu Cultural Walk and Dance

Learn about the Tharu people who have lived in this area for generations through village walks and evening dance shows. You will see their traditional homes, watch how they live every day, and visit their community museum with local guides who speak English. Every night features real performances by Tharu and Kumal groups showing their old traditions and connection to the jungle.

Boat Safari & Sundowner

Take peaceful boat rides down the Rapti River while guides show you rhinos sunbathing on the shore, crocodiles, and many water birds. Morning trips include hot breakfast cooked right on the riverbank, and afternoon trips end with snacks while you watch beautiful sunsets. These quiet water rides give you different views of Chitwan's animals in their home.

Jungle Safari

Cross the river by boat to enter Chitwan National Park, where jeeps take you deep into the forest on different paths. Expert guides help you find Royal Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos, and other wild animals in the best spots. You will eat picnic meals in the middle of the safari, and you can choose morning, afternoon, or all-day trips that go further into remote areas.

Walking Safari

Walk through the jungle with trained guides for the best wildlife experience without loud vehicle sounds, perfect for people who love watching birds. You will walk 5-7 kilometers on half-day tours while learning about healing plants, animal tracks, and exotic birds up close. This quiet experience lets you see things you cannot see from vehicles, but small children should not join for safety reasons.

More about this escape

Your adventure begins early in the morning when you take a boat down the Rapti River and watch the jungle come alive with bird sounds. You will ride in jeeps through Chitwan National Park where you can spot one-horned rhinos eating grass and maybe even see tiger footprints in the mud. Boat trips let you see crocodiles resting in the sun and colorful birds diving into the water as you float toward where two rivers meet.

When evening comes, you will eat dinner in the forest under lanterns while listening to jungle sounds all around you. Local Tharu people will dance and tell stories that their families have shared for hundreds of years. At Barahi Jungle Lodge, every day brings new wildlife encounters and peaceful moments watching the sunrise over the wilderness.

Good to Know

Seasonal Considerations

Rainy Season Changes: The park closes jeep safaris from June to October because roads get flooded. Boat trips and cultural shows still happen during these months.

Seeing Animals: Wild animals move around freely and follow their own schedules. You might see tigers and rhinos, but it depends on where they choose to go that day.

Practical Notes

What to Wear: Bring strong hiking boots for walking safaris that go 5-7 kilometers through mud and small streams. Wear brown or green clothes because bright colors make animals run away.

Age Limits: Walking safaris need good fitness and may not be suitable for young children. All other activities work well for families with children of different ages.
